Earlobe Repair (Split Earlobe)
Earlobe repair is reconstructive surgery to correct split, ripped, torn or stretched out earlobes. This surgery can help correct trauma caused by a pulled earring, prolonged wearing of heavy earrings, sports injury or deliberate earlobe stretching. A torn earlobe can be very painful and unpleasant for the injured individual who may also long to wear earrings once again.

What to expect
During your consultation we will discuss the most appropriate and minimally invasive procedure for you. Earlobe repair is normally undertaken as a day case procedure (you will go home the same day) under local anaesthesia and takes around 30 – 60 minutes per ear. There are several techniques that we use to remove the excess tissue. Once we are happy with the new shape and size we close the tissue with fine stitches ensuring that scarring is kept to a minimum.
After surgery
Discomfort after surgery should be minimal and treatable by simple painkillers if required. You may also be given an antibiotic ointment to apply. We will invite you back for a check-up approximately 1-2 weeks following surgery to ensure your ear is healing correctly.
